Parent resident visa
The New Zealand Parent Resident Visa allows parents of New Zealand citizens or residents to live in New Zealand permanently. This visa supports family reunification and skilled migration. Here are the key points:
Eligibility: Applicants must have a child who is a New Zealand citizen or resident and meets the income requirements to sponsor them.
Expression of Interest (EOI): Prospective applicants must submit an EOI. If selected, they will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for residence.
Quota: Up to 2,500 visas are granted annually, with EOIs selected either from a queue or a ballot system.
Application Process: Once invited, applicants must submit their residence application within four months, providing all necessary documents and evidence. The latest requirements are as follows:1, The parents are in good health and have no criminal history.2, Parents who do not speak English well can purchase English training.3, The sponsor must have been granted a New Zealand Resident Visa for at least three years and reside in New Zealand for at least 184 days per year when applying for the Parent Resident Visa. 3, In any of the three years prior to the EOI being selected, the sponsor's children must meet the income requirement for two years. 4, The spouses can become joint sponsors and sponsor their parents with their common income.5, If parents have more than one child live in New Zealand, they can become joint sponsors. 6, To sponsor a parent, the sponsor requires 1.5 times the median wage.7, Sponsoring a parent, couple, or joint sibling sponsor requires 2 times the median wage. Sponsoring up to 6 parents, each additional parent requires an increase of 0.5 times the median income.
