Active Investor Plus Visa
- The New Zealand Active Investor Plus Visa is designed to attract high-value investors to the country, promoting economic growth and innovation. This visa allows investors to live, work, and invest in New Zealand. Starting from 1 April 2025, the visa will offer two investment categories and some major changes:
- Growth Category: Requires a minimum investment of NZD $5 million for at least three years, targeting higher-risk investments and direct involvement in New Zealand businesses. Retain investment for 3 years, spend a minimum of 21 days in New Zealand over the investment period.
- Balanced Category: Requires a minimum investment of NZD $10 million over five years, offering a more diversified and lower-risk investment approach. Retain investment for 5 years, spend a minimum of 105 days in New Zealand over the investment period.
- Acceptable investments: Managed funds, Direct investments for Growth Category.
- Broadening the scope of acceptable investments for Balanced category to include bond and property (new residential, new/existing commercial or industrial developments) investments, and also include Bonds (Government, local government, corporate), Listed equities, Philanthropy.
- Both categories must make all investments within 6 months of their approval in principle but may apply for a 6 month extension, and
- Removing the English language requirement.
